Irene Montes was born December 4, 1931 in Pacoima, California. She went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at the age of 79 with her loving family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Virginia Garcia Hernandez. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 31 years, Frank Montes, nine children, numerous grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Visitation at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass is Thursday, May 19, 2011 at San Juan de los Lagos Catholic Church, 3231 El Paso Street at 10:00 a.m.
