Irene Schnieder, age 86, passed away January 2, 2011. She was born on December 14, 1924 Kosciusko, Texas in Karnes County. Irene worked in her early life as a Beautition at Josky’s Department Store . She worked for American Life Insurance and also Tower Life Insurance. Upon retirement, Irene donated countless hours to the Chancellery for Catholic Church; there she operated the TV cameras for masses. She also produced many masses and countless other programs for the Chancellery and donated her time at St. Dominic and St. Luke Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melford H. Schneider and is survived by her son, Richard L. Schneider and wife Jody; grandson, Corey Lee Schneider; sister-in-law Mary Skloss and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 6, 2011 at St. Luke Catholic Church with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
