She, along with the love of her life, Eddie, owned and operated Schroeder Furniture in downtown San Antonio. They spent time together attending auction and estate sales and enjoying life.
Growing up during the great depression, she had no need for extravagance, but appreciated the love of faith, family and dogs more than any other material object on earth.
She worked as a waitress until the age of 79. Second to her family, she spent most of her retirement years shopping resale shops and restoring furniture.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin (Eddie) K. Schroeder and her first grandchild, David Schroeder. She is survived by children, Robert Woodard; Virgil Schroeder, (Lupe); Penny Mecke, (David) and Cheryl Branard, (Bill); 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was the rock of our family and may be gone from our sight, but will remain in our hearts forever. Visitation will begin at 12:30 on Monday, September 19, 2011 at Porter Loring on McCullough.
