Iris G. Bennett

Iris attended Waco High School, was employed by the Veteran's Administration and General Tire Company. She married George F. Bennett on September 30, 1949, on the day he was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force.

As an Air Force wife, Iris traveled the world with her husband all the while raising their 2 beloved children. They retired to Ft. Worth in 1975 and spent the next 18 years enjoying life. They moved to Horse Shoe Bay and were very active in many church, community and golf activities.

After George's death, Iris moved to San Antonio to be closer to her family. Other than golf, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George F. Bennett. Iris is survived by her children, Barbara Loomis and husband, Gus, and Barry T. Bennett and wife, Betty Kay; grandchildren, Heather, Trevor and Laura Loomis, David Bennett and wife, Lindsay, Daniel Bennett, Leah Feltner and husband, Matthew; sister, Kathryn Lewis; numerous nieces and nephews.
