Irma Leal Mrs. Dukes

After a long battle and courageous battle with cancer, Irma Dukes, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother went to be with Jesus Christ our Lord on October 17, 2018 at the age of 62 years. Irma was a devoted wife, loving stepmother, grandmother, aunt and sister, who was loved and adored by her family. Irma looked forward to spending time with her family, especially during the holidays, where the entire family met at her house. She will be missed by all and will remains in her family's hearts until we meet again.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel C. Leal and Lidia V. Fernandez and a sister, Rosalinda Mingalone. She is survived by her husband, Steven Wayne Dukes; stepchildren, William T. Dukes and Heather A. Smith; grandchildren, Trista Numera, Alyss Numera and Kain Numera; sisters, Gloria Hernandez (Gilbert), Blanche DeLeon, and Millie Leal; brothers, Miguel Leal (Margaret), Daniel Leal, Jr. (Guadalupe), Xavier Leal (Joan) and Womac Leal. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and one God child, Lila A. Ramos.

Irma had just transferred from San Antonio Embassy Suites Hotel to Downey, CA where she met Steven in January of 1986 and fell in love. Steven moved from Illinois to Los Angeles one month later and were married on July 13, 1993. Irma and Steven enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and when they were at home enjoyed gardening and reading. She was a devoted employee of Vilore Foods where she worked as Human Resources Director for 12 years. Everything she did there was to the best of her ability and with great integrity.

An evening service and gathering of family and friends will take place at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 N. Loop 1604 East, San Antonio on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Eulogy will be by Gilbert Anthony Hernandez.
