As a devoted Catholic, she found beauty in life’s simple pleasures and shared that joy with everyone she met. Whether she was sharing stories with her friends at the Senior Center or spending time with her family, Irma’s presence was a gift.
She was never one to bite her tongue or back down from a challenge. Irma loved fiercely with a devotion that was both protective and unconditional. She lived life on her own terms — defined by love, laughter, and an unbreakable bond with her family. She was our rock, our fire and our greatest advocate, leaving behind a legacy of strength that will never be forgotten.
Though she is no longer with us in person, her influence remains. We will continue her legacy by standing our ground, loving without apology, and caring for one another with the same ferocity she showed us every day. She will always be with us— in the laughter at our family table, the quiet moments of prayer, and the stubborn strength we find in ourselves when we need it the most.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Espinoza Garza and Josephine Jimenez Garza; son, Rodolfo (Rudy) Rodriguez; daughter, Michelle Romero-Cruz.
Irma is survived by her children, Alfred Cardona (Leticia), Genevieve (Baby) Negrete, Debra Ann Rodriguez, Louis (Louie) Rodriguez (Margie) and Ralph Romero; grandchildren, Alfred, Miranda, Jacob, Javier, Natasha, Mason, April, Adam, Laela, Janis, Eulalio (Lalito), Rudy Jr. (RJ), Caleb, Jasmine and several great grandchildren; siblings, Margaret Urias (Sista), Yolanda Glowski and William (Willie) Garza Jr.; also, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
