Isabel Sellard, 77, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, April 20, 2023. She was born on December 5, 1945 in Wrea Green, England, as the first born to Mario E. Jimenez and Norah Campbell. She was the oldest of four children and being part of a military family meant they traveled and lived in many places before calling San Antonio, TX home.
Isabel met and married the love of her life, Robert Sellard in 1969 and they spent 45 amazing years together. They raised three children, and their house was an open, welcome, and revolving door for the many friends and family that shared in their love and laughter. Isabel enjoyed reading, gardening and animals and always filled her home with books, plants, and “puppies.” When she was not busy taking care of loved ones or spoiling pets, she shared her talent and creativity with various arts and crafts gifts.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly (Kim), Robert (B.J.), and William, and her daughters-in-law, Gretchen, and Caitlin; her grandchildren, Lauren, Sarah, and Connor; her great grandson, Maddox; her nieces and nephews, Jennifer, John, and James; her great nieces, Brianna and Charlotte; her great nephews, Thomas and Ronan, and many loving friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, Mario and Norah, her brothers, Mario Jr, and John, and her nephew, Brian.
Isabel was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, “Granny” and beloved friend. She was quick to laugh, a constant support, and a fierce protector to those she loved. She looked for the positive in every moment and would be the first to cheer you on or provide a hug when needed. She always shared a smile and never met a stranger. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
No flowers or donations are requested at this time, only that you share a memory, story, or smile when remembering the beautiful soul that was Isabel.
The Memorial Service will be held from 1:00pm to 1:30pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Pavilion 4, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209. It is open to all family and friends who would like to attend.
