Ismael Jerome Vasquez, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, was called home by the Lord on August 15, 2013, at the age of 83. He was born in Wichita, KS to Francisco and Soledad (Herrera) Vasquez on July 20, 1930. He served his country honorably for over 20 years in the United States Marines, Navy, and the Air Force and was a decorated veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his loving wife Blanca Alicia; children, Andrew, Patricia, Terri Ann, Christopher and Paul; beloved 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons; former wife and mother of his children, Carmen; four sisters; one brother and many relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 from 5:00pm until 7pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 9:30am at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
