Israel Z. Cortez went to be with the Lord on June 18, 2013 at the age of 62. He is preceded in death by his parents Gregorio V. Cortez and Josefa Z. Cortez. Israel is survived by his wife Esperanza (Hope) M. Cortez; children, Brenda A.Cardenas, Belinda Barrera and Cathy E. Sanchez; grandchildren, Raven Nichole Cortez, Megan Margarita Sotello, Derek Jacob Cardenas, Austin Alexander Cardenas, Hope Elizabeth Barrera, Sydney Rose Sanchez, Sean Anthony Cardenas and Israel Lee Sanchez; siblings, Carlos Cortez of Pueblo, CO, Roberto Cortez, Sarita Ramos, Maria Teresa Mendoza, Maria Teresa Marquez all of San Antonio. Visitation will begin 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013 at Trevino funeral home.
