

Barry was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Vivian and John Wilbur Stevens on February 11, 1938. He graduated from East Central High School and then later, graduated from Saint Mary’s University. He worked as a V.P. of Sales and Marketing for Matera Paper Company, and retired after 52 years. He was Vice President of Commissioners for Emergency Services District #11 Fire and Rescue. Barry was also very involved with the East Central School Foundation and served on the school board for many years. He was a longtime season ticket holder with the Missions Baseball Team and which brought him great enjoyment through the years.
Barry is preceded in death by his parents, Vivian and John Wilbur Stevens.
Barry is survived by his children, Suzanne Stevens Blalock (Yancy Lane Blalock Sr), Christopher Dane Stevens (Debby), Scott Anthony Stevens (Laurie), Rodger Devlyn Lovell (Becca). Also survived by his former spouse and mother of his daughter, Nelda Jayne Bones, and his brother, Rodney Stevens.
Barry is also survived by his precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Ivy Blalock, Camilla Geoghegan (Brody) with Maggie, Yancy Blalock Jr. (Leah) with Yancy Blalock III, Cale Blalock, Avery Blalock, Boone Blalock, April Stevens, Cody Stevens (Jessie) with Lucy and Dean, Evan Stevens (Lauren) with James and Miles, Luke Stevens (Hannah) with Wendy and Henry, Claire Guiterrez and spouse, John, Rory Lovell, Ryder Lovell. He is also survived by his nephews, Lee and Neil Stevens.
Visitation will be 6:00P-8:00P Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218.
Funeral services will be held 2:00P-3:00P with reception to follow Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218
