

SSGT Jack E. Faulkner, USAF (Ret) was born in Haskell, TX on October 11, 1928 and passed from this life on Sunday, December 12, 2010 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 82. He was honorably retired from the USAF after 21 years of service. He was an aircraft mechanic at numerous Air Force bases in the US and overseas at Phalsbourg AB, France. He temporarily served at bases in Korea, Japan, and Republic of Vietnam. Following military retirement, Jack owned and operated Shell Oil & Gas service stations in Amarillo, TX and Albuquerque, NM for a number of years. Jack moved to San Antonio in 1984, working in the retail furniture business. After retiring from both the oil & gas industry and furniture retail business, Jack resided at Waterford Assisted Living followed by Rosewood Rehabilitation and Care Center. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary F. Faulkner (Beck); brothers, William E. Faulkner, Hubert A. Faulkner; parents, James Elie and Katherine Louise (Miller) Faulkner. Surviving are his brothers, Jess O. Faulkner (Betty), Jim Faulkner (Jan), Steve Faulkner (Janice); numerous nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
