A lifelong resident of Del Rio, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1949 and was wounded in Korea in December of 1950. He began employment with Southern Pacific Railroad in 1951 and retired in 1989.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorena Reynolds Green and Robert Green, and his brothers, John and Robert Green.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jackie; sons, Roger Green and wife Karol, Walter "Bott" Green and wife Lori, and Jack Russell Green; grandchildren, Kacy and husband Brad, Jake, Aaron, Josh who is serving his country in the U.S. Army in Iraq, and Journey; brother, Mike Green and wife Debbie; sister-in-law, Janice Green; five nieces; and two nephews.
Pallbearers will be his sons, one grandson Aaron, his brother Mike Green, and Larry Herrington. Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Moore, Terry Sumrow, Terry Davis, and Jim Bob Hill.
