After attending Onapa High School, he graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1953 and later attended Baylor College of Dentistry where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1962. Upon graduation, they moved to Norman, Oklahoma where she served as a Registered Nurse and he began a successful private dental practice. During his 32 years of teaching, he was awarded many honors by his students for his skills and ability to impart his knowledge to them. He was a mentor to many students and colleagues and many sought his advice on personal as well as professional matters. Dr. Hardage also served 20 years in the Army Reserve eventually retiring with the rank of Colonel. His passions included working with horses, fishing, enjoying time with family and friends, and serving in his local church. He was a devout Christian who exemplified all the fruits of the Holy Spirit. His patience and kindness were not surpassed.
