I have always looked up to Jack. Smooth yet tough, and always working. Whether it was a board meeting, a case or social event, Jack made his presence known and welcome. My respect only grew as I witnessed how he faced his last battle. Fearlessly, without regret and thoughtful of those taking the journey with him. What an inspiration.

Thank you for broadening my horizons. I truly value all the precious moments we spent together. You and Mrs. Rosemary will forever be a part of my life. Your legacy lives on.

I was one of Jacks professors at St. Marys Law School. In thoses days the classes were small and the instructors and students became friends. Jack was a very special person and I followed his career as a top notch lawyer. I was not familiary with his family, but I know he served the Bar, the Comunity and his law school with honor. Mrs. Leon, I am so sorry for your loss. I just do not have the words to express my feelings nor to be able to describe Mr. Leon. When working with John Furnish it was always a pleasure to come to the law office and pick up work to be done. Mr. Leon knew what he wanted and how to get the work done. Thankfully we were able, most of the time, to get it done to his asking. If not he was always understanding with us as he was with everyone. Dear Rosemary, With great sadness, I read of Jack's death. He certainly was one of the premier attorneys of our city, a fine gentleman and a valued civic leader. 
 I still can hear Jack and Margie chuckling about the time she threatened to call the constable on him when he blocked the voting in the Republican primary in Olmos Park, where she was the election judge, when he came to complain about Margie not allowing Chris to vote. Perhaps they can continue their friendly relationship in heaven. 
 I am sorry that I will be unable to attend the Mass. I was going to drop you a personal note, but I could not find your address. As I remember, it was in that fabulous house on Exeter, but I was not sure and did not want to send it there and have it returned.

We knew Jack Paul as a worthy and honorable opponent for more than 30 years. He was diligent in his efforts and his dedication to both the law and his client's interests insured that Justice would be done regardless of the verdict. Outside the court he was warm and caring whether you met him in the courthouse or the grocery. He truly demonstated that in a civil world we can disagree without being disagreeable. We all know the end of our life's journey and hope that when we reach it they will say about us what they will say about Jack Paul-- "Well done, Thou good and faithful servant." Where do you begin when talking about a fine man like Mr. Leon. He was a great friend & lawyer to my Dad, Naylor Morton, for many years. In my time of need he was by my side. A great teacher and father figure. I learned so much from him, but the one thing I will always remember is to, "document, document, document". What a good man with so much to give, taken to early. God Bless You Mr. Leon. My sympathies to his family and close friends. With deep sadness in my heart and due to health reasons I will not be able to attend the services.

Known Jack Paul since 1959 when I started law school. Terrific guy. Due to my medical condition canot services but will remember him in my prayers. He was one of my idols during my early years and will always remember Jack Paul Leon, John Peace Sr., Leonard Brown, Judge Casseb, Freddie Simang, T. P. Henley, and other great legal minds that I met in the 60's. I used to skip classes at the down town campus just to watch him try a case.
