He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; son, Paul Leon; his adoring stepchildren: Joe and Laura Amberson, Elaine and Richard Ellender, Lucy Gregg, Kathie and Jim Westberry, Laurence and Sherrie Amberson, Chris and Mary Margaret Amberson and twelve grandchildren.
Jack proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Jack loved his family, the practice of law, his interns and St. Mary's University School of Law where he proudly served as a Trustee.
His happiest moments were when his stepsons followed in his footsteps and became lawyers. He rejoiced when a former intern informed him of a success or an honor. The news of a Phi Beta Kappa Key, Law Review or clerkship with a Federal Judge pleased him greatly. You know who you are. You are his legacy.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert A. Wolff, M. D. Anderson, Houston, Texas; Dr. Scott Campbell, San Antonio, Texas, Masters of Medicine; Connie LeDay Jacobs and the staff at M D Anderson; you made his illness a fascinating journey at the end of a long and rewarding life.
The family will visit with friends Monday, February 14th beginning at 5:30 P.M. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
