'I met Mick when his family moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa in his Sophomore year of High School. We became fast friends both on and off of the handball court. Mick talked me into going to Texas Tech. He said it was cotton country so I envisioned scenes out of Gone With the Wind. I was half right as Lubbock was definitely gone with the wind on many occasions. After graduation I stayed in constant contact with Mickey either by telephone or Mick visiting me in Phoenix or myself going to San Antonio. He was (is) a great guy with a great sense of humor. I will miss him greatly. My condolences to his dear wife Patty (her nickname for him was Bugs and He called her Rabbit) and his two children, Lauren and Michael.'

'I still cannot believe that Jack is gone. I think I am still in denial. Jack was the best boss that I ever had and I'm not just saying that. We started off at Sterling Bank and headed together to Plains Capital Bank until I had to quit working due to health issues. He always treated me with respect and we loved that we were a team. He was always willing to teach me new things at work and in life. He always gave me great advice for whatever dilemma I had. I worked with him for six years and I miss my friend dearly. Since his wife is also named Patty, he called me "office Patty". He made coming to work enjoyable. I always thought I would see him again after I quit working but now I'll have to wait to see him again in heaven. Patty, I give you and his children, my deepest sympathy and condolences. I always believed that he was lucky to have you in his life and vice versa. Now that he is an angel in heaven, his spirit will always be with us. May you rest in peace Jack.'

'I'm one of many Delts that are saddened by "Micks" passing, I was a younger Delt when Mick was there but we all knew that he had one of the best wits out there. 'As I am sure all of us are, I am still wrestling with accepting that Jack is no longer with us. I first met Jack when our oldest and Michael were teammates playing youth basketball at UUMC. Many years later I had the privilege of working with Jack. For some reason he has always credited me for assisting him in reentering the banking industry, but the truth is that Jack's decision to join my group was a blessing and it was I that benefitted immeasurably from my years of working with and learning from Jack.
