Jacob Tyler Johnson, 24, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 19, 2023. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on May 30, 1998, to Jason Ty Johnson and Michele Lee Johnson. A natural athlete, Jacob played Defensive End for Alamo Heights High School. To know Jacob was to love him and he put a smile on everyone’s face. Jacob was a loyal friend that was always there for anyone that needed him. He was an avid musician, playing both guitar and cello. His quick wit and songwriting skills entertained many. His main interest was in model construction, starting with an early love for Legos, his Papa’s model trains, and eventually as Team Leader for his high school’s rocketry team. Jacob found inspiration in taking things apart and joy in putting them back together. He was a creative artist and his ability to imitate others (including his parents) was uncanny.
After graduating from Alamo Heights High School with honors in 2016, his passions extended into his discovery of the renewable energy field at Texas Tech University, where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and served as their Alumni Chair. Graduating in May of 2022 with a B.S. in Renewable Energy Science, Jacob recently moved back to his hometown of San Antonio to start his career with Holt Cat as a National Account Coordinator.
Jacob is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jane V. Lee; cousin, Fletcher Randall; and uncle, Scott Perkins. He is survived by his parents, Ty and Michele Johnson; sister, Henley; maternal grandparents, Dr. J. Fletcher and Barbara Lee; his paternal grandparents, Clifford and Linda Johnson; uncle, Preston Johnson (Cathy); aunts, Mary Jane Perkins, Cathy Randall, Karen Mueller (Paul); cousins, Wesley, Julian, Sarah (Chris, Audrey, and Paul), Michael, Riley, Jane, Charlie, Charlotte (Ben), Lizzie (Alex), Tee (Laura), Nina (Greg & Wesley); girlfriend, Abigail Bartholomeo; beloved dog, Maizzi; god-parents, Tracy and Dan Kirby; and a multitude of friends.
