Jake moved to San Antonio in his early childhood. He was a musician and formed his first band, Little Jake and the Giants, while attending Thomas Jefferson High School. His unique drumming style earned him the title of the shuffle king.
During the Vietman War, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. After being honorably discharged, he worked many years for the City of San Antonio managing the Municipal Auditorium, the Tower of the Americas, and was the coordinator of events for the Convention Center.
He later decided to pursue a career in music playing with the all-original band Stillwater Reunion, as well as other successful blues bands.
Jake provided a colorful upbringing for his children and enjoyed family life to the fullest. He always enjoyed working with the public, which brought him to his career with Specht's Store in Bulverde and then later Big Daddy's, also in Bulverde.
Jake had recently moved to Lakehills where he was working for Bandera County as a Park Ranger in the outdoors that he loved so much. He fought cancer for the last 6 months ferociously.
Jake is survived by the love of his life, Kate Mangold of San Antonio, son Jacob Noll, Jr. and wife Emily of Bulverde, daughter Lisa Mills and husband Charlie of Bulverde, sister Betty Achilles of San Antonio, three grandchildren, Michael Varnum, David Varnum, and Emma Mills; three step-grandchildren, Catherine Mills, Wes Mills, and Kayla Moss; and his Soul Brother, Dan "Boogie" Winans and wife Karen.
