Jacobo, when your name is spoken, a few things cross my mind. The first- your smile and your laugh, next your kindness and playfulness, and last your genuine presence. When my children (Alaena and Phoenix) speak of you they are quick to say that you were always smiling, always engaging in a conversation with them, and that you were playful. Phoenix recalls many times that you hung out with him Andy and Aiden shooting baskets, playing Nerf, playing tricks, or just hanging out. Alaena appreciated that you were always easy to talk to and that you were kind. She recalls you joining conversations as she hung out with Danica and Aubrey and she says you talked to them a lot. I can say that you never allowed the difference in age to come in the way of getting to know any of us. My husband and I were always impressed with your ability to enter a room and move through a conversation as a deliberate listener, attentive to all whom you shared in conversations and yet, somehow seemed so content with just being in the presence of everyone. Jacobo- you were genuine. There was never a time that you did not say "hello" chatting with me about what you were up to or what you intended to do. I always appreciated how you allowed me to know you and through our conversations I came to recognize what an amazing young man you were. You will be missed and you will be remembered. What an honor it was know you.

Jacobo, i really don’t know how to start this off... you have been there for me since day one, and i cannot thank you enough. I love you with all my heart, and so much more. It’s going to be hard letting you go.. it’s going to be hard not seeing you everyday, and yes i know you’re still with me, and i know you’re in a better place... but i just i don’t know, it’s not going to be the same. I want you here with me, i want you here on the day of my quince.. geez i want to see you dance, and make that night memorable. It’s so hard, but i know i’m going to get through this. That all of us are going to get through this, but it is going to take time because Jacobo you taught me how love like no other... you were so kind, funny, handsome, and sweet. You were gods angle from the beginning, and you were so so good that god needed to bring you home. As much as it hurts, you’re resting now, and we all know that you’re okay. I love you jacobo, and please continue to watch over us.

Every Christmas and every holiday was a joy with Jacobo’s smile lighting up the room. He was always in the middle of the dance floor, laughing, smiling, and never missing a beat. Our wedding was no different. We don’t think we ever saw him sitting down; he was always busting a move with Aunt Mary, Ale or the nearest dance buddy he could find. Every conversation with him had a distinct feeling of uniqueness and love. His memory will always stay with us and we will cherish every moment we got to spend with him. Ale had the privilege of sharing a song or two with him at our wedding, and this picture is an accurate representation of the joy he brought to everyone he touched. We love you Jacobo.

Jacobo
I want to thank you for all the love you gave us, thank you for being such a Genuine, loving, caring, funny, smart, and hard working nephew. One thing you’ve taught me is to LOVE unconditionally and never give up. Your talks we had were few but I cherish each and every one of them. I hope my kids turn out to be like you, and I will forever talk about your kindness and loving heart to them. I will forever hold our talk we had the night before you passed, and I will always remember your smile and your voice. I’m so grateful to have been able to hug you one last time. Rest Easy Jacobo. Love, your Uncle Erik Reyes.

Jake the Snake. Buddy. I miss you. I miss your voice. “Hi Tia Sandy”...I miss hearing that most. I’m going to miss your birthday calls. I’m going to miss you asking me about work, talking about the Cowboys, and about the shows we watched. You’re at peace Papa. Knowing that gives me strength and a sense of peace as well. You loved the Lord. I know you’re with him. You loved life. You touched so many people. You had this unique ability to make people feel important when you spoke to them. I want your spirit and your kindness to live through us always. Thank you for being so great to my kids. They looked up to you and were so proud to call you their big cousin. Watch over your mama and dad and your sister and brother. Until we meet again Papa. I love you! Tia Sandy.
