Jacqueline Sue Ferguson

Jacqueline Sue Ferguson, age 63, of San Antonio, Texas went peacefully to be with her savior, Jesus Christ, after a 9-month battle with Neuroendocrine Carcinoma Cancer on August 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on April 10, 1963, to Terrence Michael Manwaring and Constance Pauline Manwaring. After attending Marshall High School, Jacqueline met her future husband later that year and was married in 1983. She worked various jobs until 1985 when Jacqueline and her husband were stationed at Barford St. John RAF, England. After returning from England, she started working for Manwaring Business Forms, a family business, for 35 years as a bookkeeper.

Jacqueline loved to love people. Jacqueline was a longtime member of Al Anon, where she found great purpose in supporting and helping others; dedicated volunteering in her children’s activities and sports, including serving as her daughter’s volleyball coach. She served as a Sunday School teacher for several years. Jacqueline was also Homecoming Queen at her High School in 1981, a member of the Pep squad and a cheerleader during her High School years. She had a remarkable way of making everyone feel seen and welcomed. She never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone, always offering kindness, friendship, and genuine interest in their lives. She had an especially tender heart for people who were often overlooked and formed meaningful friendships with people of all abilities and walks of life. Jacqueline was also a lifelong lover of animals and nature. She had a soft spot for animals in need and was always willing to open her home and heart to a stray dog. Jacqueline loved to travel and visited many countries in Europe, Mexico and Australia and many places in the United States. She loved her family very much and especially loved the large family gatherings with all her sisters and brothers and nephews & nieces. She loved to attend Community Bible Church (CBC) and when days were too tough with her treatments she would always watch on TV. She loved Psalm 23, one of her favorite scriptures her whole life.

Jacqueline is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, David as well as their children Stephanie Elizabeth Ferguson and Steve Philip Ferguson, Siblings Colleen (Kelly) Postert, Teri (Doug) McKenzie, Terrence/Ted (Jennifer) Manwaring, Mark (Darcy) Manwaring, Ann Marie (Gamaliel) Rodriguez, Sister-in-Law Donna (Ron) Baker, and many nephews and nieces and their children. Jacqueline was preceded in death by her dad, Terrence (Ted) Michael Manwaring and her brother Phillip Michael Manwaring.

A public visitation will take place from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM on September 10, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232. Interment will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio, TX 78266.
