Jacqueline Louise Peltier, known by many as Jackie, passed away on June 3, 2023, at Methodist Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 6, 1947, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Joseph Julio Pasciuto and Helen Ruth Moynihan. She attended Saint Anne's Catholic School for her primary education and then went on to Cardinal Cushing High School for her secondary education. Later, she pursued higher education at Massachusetts Bay Community College where she met her lifelong partner and husband.
On July 27, 1968, Jackie and Joe were married in St. Anne’s Church in Readville, MA. They started their lives together as students at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA. In February 1969, their plans dramatically changed as the Vietnam War intervened and Joe got drafted. He chose to join the United States Air Force as an enlisted medic. Jackie was thrilled that his first assignment was close to home at Otis AFB on Cape Cod. She put her career plans on hold to become a dedicated military spouse. She enjoyed the many adventures the serviceman’s life provided them. She even was happy when Joe received his commission as an officer and went to fly in the F-4 Phantom.
Upon Joe’s retirement in 1989, it was Jackie’s turn to pursue her career. She completed her degree requirements for a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Massachusetts. She subsequently became a Paralegal Specialist (GS-13) in the Asset Forfeiture for the Department of Justice, District of Nevada. She excelled in this position and served as a Program Manager for the DOJ's Consolidated Asset Forfeiture System working in Washington, DC and providing specialized training to District office personnel around the country. Her dedication and hard work in her career were commendable. She and her team received special recognition from then Attorney General, Janet Reno.
On her retirement from Federal Service in 2011, Jackie and Joe moved from their home in Las Vegas, NV to build a new home on their 42 acre ranch in Bexar County, Atascosa, TX. Jackie loved watching the deer, rabbits, and cattle as they merrily grazed on the land.
Jackie volunteered and gave her support to many LGBT organizations in her later years. In San Antonio, she became part of the Ryan White Part A Planning Council, a federally mandated community group of dedicated volunteers appointed by the Bexar County Judge to identify and plan for the delivery of Ryan White Part A HIV/AIDS healthcare related core and support services.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Joseph E Peltier III; children, Joseph E Peltier IV, Matthew R Peltier, Benjamin D Peltier, and Joshua M Peltier; grandchildren, Cody Barron, Morrigan Peltier, Joseph E Peltier V, Avan Peltier, Nicole Peltier, Kelsie Peltier, Kaylin Peltier, Kira Peltier, Aurora Peltier, Soleil Peltier, Aeryn Peltier, Gillian Peltier, and Selene Peltier, and her brothers; Alan Pasciuto and Larry Pasciuto.
