Jakelyn Prentiss, age 78, passed away June 1, 2018. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 20, 1939 to Jake and Valentina Liebig. She is survived by her children, Ernest (Jorganna) Resendez, Randy (Jill) Resendez, Frankie (Guy) Grubbs, Mickey Resendez; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul Liebig, Douglas Shipp; sister, Patsy Bauman; nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at St. Luke Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Drive Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 9:30 A.M. with a funeral mass at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2. Jakelyn was a great friend to everyone she met, people and animals alike, no matter their circumstances in life. She truly was one of the nicest persons anyone could meet. She enjoyed a lifetime of learning, history, gardening, and the arts. However, her greatest enjoyment was visiting with her family. Her independent spirit, fortitude, and class were inherited from her forebears, many of whom played important roles in the early formation of Texas and its law enforcement agencies. Jakelyn had a positive impact on the lives of everyone who knew her, and her love and friendship will be greatly missed by all
