

James joined the U.S. Air Force and served for over 23 years. A great believer in education, he received his B.A. from the University of Maryland.
After retirement, his second career was in food service working with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office and several hospitals. His favorite and last career was as a Walmart greeter.
James was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He loved wood working and taking care of his wife.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita.
James is survived by sons, James A. Benton and David E. Benton and grandchildren, Julian, Angel, Xander, Spencer and David II; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
