

Jim graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1953 and was a proud graduate of the West Point Class of 1957. Upon graduating, he served our country in the U.S. Army for 20 years where he was awarded numerous flight medals, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, a Bronze Star, and the Legion of Merit for his service.
After retirement, Jim and Barbara owned a local business, Classic Tan, for the next 20 years. He was a parishioner of St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Jim lived as an exemplary husband, father, and soldier. He encouraged his family to pursue their individual passions, offering constant support and love. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin J. and Lillian Boehler Britton; and brother, Paul Britton.
Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Kiolbassa Britton; daughter, Debra A. Britton; son, James H. Britton, Jr.; son, Douglas A. Britton and wife, Moira; daughter, Beverly J. Harward and husband, Keith; daughter, Nancy K. Britton. Jim and Barbara have ten grandchildren: Clint, Larissa, Melissa, Nea, Brandon, Evan, Taylor, Aine, Daria, and Emily; and three great-grandchildren: Heath, Axel, and Britt; and sister, Carole Roesler.
