

SSG James “Jimmy” Gordon Brown, US Army (ret.) entered into rest October 29, 2010 at the age of 66. He was born August 16, 1944 in Wyoming, IL to Gordon and Helen Brown. James was a loving and outgoing person who was always there to help anyone in need. He was a “Jack Of All Trades” when it came to hobbies. He enjoyed so many things, boating, camping, the outdoors, and racing. He loved sports and in his earlier years coached and umpired baseball. Above all, James loved his family and friends and he will be dearly missed.
James was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Harris Brown.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 30 years, Sulema S. Brown; his mother, Helen E. Baer; his sister, Connie Brown Orwig(Mark); daughters, Tammy Jean Brown Sinn (Jeffery), Rosa B. Brown (Raul Balboa) and Rebeca S. Brown (Christopher Montoya); grandchildren, Jordon Ashley “J-Bird” Brown, Philip Sinn, Kyle Sinn, and Austin Sinn; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2010 from 6PM to 9PM at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 12PM at Sunset Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Intrepid Center for Wounded Soldiers at Ft. Sam Houston.
