LTC James Russell Buntyn U.S. Army (ret.) age 79, passed away January 6, 2016 in Windcrest, TX. He was born on March 2, 1936 in Laurel, MS to James Russell Buntyn, Sr. & Aleen Austin Buntyn. He retired from the U. S. Army with over 24 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed.
Mr. Buntyn was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Deborah Buntyn; two sons, Thomas William Buntyn, wife Jennifer and James Russell Buntyn III; two grandchildren, Deborah S. Buntyn and James Austin Buntyn; and brother, William Austin Buntyn.
Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m., Monday, January 18, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com.
