Jimmy B was the ultimate role model, direct disciplinarian but always fair, organized and efficient, never missing one aspect of taking care of his school and his students. He pushed me to always be the best at whatever I was doing. Few people will ever equal the number of young people he positively influenced in his great and dedicated career.

"Coach Calhoun" was his name in Waelder from his first day in the 1950's at WHS until this day. His integrity and character always had respect from Waelder basketball players and students. His last visit was at the 2013 Waelder Homecoming, which he and his wife always attended. We will miss him dearly.

Jim was one of the most dedicated Priciples I ever met.He was at South San High School during the 70's and early 80's and made great difference to many students and athletes. He was a good friend to myself and my husband, who was a Board Member at this time.
My family's sympathy goes out to John and his family at this difficult time.

Mr. Calhoun was my middle school adviser at Rhodes Jr. School. He always encouraged us to apply ourselves in school and in life. He was a very positive influence to all of us. Some years ago several of our class members got together with him for a dinner. I know he appreciated that evening. We will always appreciate his being there for us.
