Another one of the Greatest Generation, James proudly served in Italy and received a Purple Heart with one Oak Leaf Cluster during WWII. James was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He was a devoted care giver to his dear wife.
James is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carol May Dougherty; children, Jane Nichols and husband, Leon of San Antonio, TX; Mike Dougherty and wife, Becky, of Tulsa, OK; and Bill Dougherty, of Aitkin, MN; seven loving grandchildren; one great-grandchild, McKaylee Jane Nichols.
