James Raymond Duffy

James Raymond Duffy was granted his angel wings and went to be with the Lord on July 30th, 2021. He was born on September 29th, 1952 in Bay Shore, NY. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Raymond and Frances Duffy and sister Susan Duffy.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Candice Babila and husband Blake Babila; his devoted soulmate, Carol McNutt Duffy; his adoring sister, Diane Wong and husband Richard Wong; niece, Suzie Wong and children, Isabella, Jayden, and Jayce; his brother, Daniel James Duffy; mother of their daughter and former spouse, Cheri Pierson; and so many other family members and friends.

Jim was born and raised in Bay Shore, NY. At the age of 14 the family moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida which only increased his love of fishing and the ocean. From there the family moved to Bangkok, Thailand where he learned and loved the Thai culture. After spending 4 years in Thailand, they moved back to Florida. From there at the age of 20 Jim moved to San Antonio, TX where he stayed the remainder of his life. He accepted a job working with his Father at Fairchild Aviation which led to working at one of his most beloved jobs with Southwest Airlines. His favorite part of working in aviation was getting a seat on empty legs and traveling around the country. His passion for sales started growing and was very engaged with cars which led to his career at Toyota Auto Sales where he earned too many sales awards to list and prided himself on being the top salesman each month. As his career started to take off Jim and Cheri welcomed their beautiful daughter Candice Lynne Duffy on December 29th, 1985. Candice was his pride and joy from that moment on.

Jim had an extreme passion for fishing, boating and any ocean he could get into. He loved being outside with nature, watching birds and training his pets. He absolutely loved being with family as that was one of his greatest joys in life.

He touched and inspired lives and will be sorely missed. Giving those who mourn his passing the gift of his passing one to celebrate.

Funeral will be held on 11:00 am Friday, August 27th, 2021 at the Praise Center, Cornerstone Church 18755 Stone Oak Pkwy. San Antonio, TX 78258. This Praise Center is located in the Cornerstone Church parking lot just south of the Hilton Hotel.

A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be immediately following at Rosarios North 9715 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio, TX 78216.
