James M. Gonzales

James "Mr. G." Gonzales, of San Antonio, entered eternal rest Monday, May 26, 2003 after many months of medical complications. Mr. Gonzales was a longtime car salesman. He often talked about his deep love for his grandchildren, "los Chiquitos."

Mr. Gonzales was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Dolores Menchaca Gonzales, and sisters, Aurora, Hermina, Diamantina, and Virginia.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Veronica Palacios Gonzales; daughters, Valerie Franklin and husband Charles, Vanessa Gonzales-Gonzales and husband Tony, Jr.; son, Junior; sister, Connie Aleman and husband Juan of Edinburg, TX; grandsons, Charlton James Franklin "Chocolate", Jamison Robert Franklin "Jaimito", Christian Israel Franklin "Chris-Chris"; sisters and brothers-in-law, Roberto and Elsa Palacios, Sara and Roberto Cruz, Ceci and Cesar Saenz, all of Laredo, TX, Ricardo and Melody Palacios of Alice, TX; nieces and nephews, Alfredo and Maria Oliva of Laredo, TX, Emenencio and Olivia Ramirez of Eagle Pass, TX, Robert Palacios, Jr., Claudia Palacios and her daughter Biviana, all of Laredo, TX, Gabriela and Mike Idrogo of Richardson, TX, Robert Cruz, Jr. and Jennifer, Sari Cruz, Izdel Cruz and Leo, all of Austin, TX, Krista Atkinson and Buckie Saenz, both of Laredo, TX, Ricky, Adam, and Abigail Palacios, all of Alice, TX.

His grandchildren will miss the quiet times spent with Papa. Area salesmen and many family friends will remember him fondly. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all of the wonderful doctors, nurses and hospitals that provided care for Mr. Gonzales. Special thanks to Dr. Nancy Hinitt, Dr. Jose Perez, Celeste Stephens, and Dr. Nora Walker for your many hours of compassionate medical care.

Pallbearers will be: Tony Gonzales, Jr.; Charles E. Franklin; SGT Ricardo Palacios; Roberto Palacios; Roberto Palacios, Jr.; Michael Rodriguez; Cesar Saenz; Roberto Cruz; Robert Cruz, Jr.; and Juan Aleman. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ricky Palacios, Adam Palacios, Tom Benson, Steve Ybarra, Leo Hernandez, Bob Gorena, Jesse Villarreal, Ted Gonzales, David Garza, Ed Pourasef, Fernando Galindo, Pablo Bustamante, and Alberto Bustamante.
