James Gordon Hand, loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather and friend, went to be with his Lord on January 18, 2012. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 27, 1932 to Preston and Hilda Hand. He is survived by his wife Vivian Cogburn Hand; his sons, Jimmy Rae Hand Brown, Larry Hand Brown, James Bradley and Patrice Hand ; his daughters Julianna and Lary Roberson, Amy and George Martinez, and Jennifer and Keith Hatwig; his stepchildren, Col. Bradford and Eleana Williams, Nora Williams and Wesley Williams; his 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; his sister Gloria Anderson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted at Zion Lutheran Church, 9944 Leslie Road at Braun and Loop 1604 on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. David Schulte officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery Fence Fund.
