I know that the past few days, with the on-going of maw maw, has re-opened your wounds. I so wish that I could take your pain away!! All I know is that I am VERY thankful that this is not our home, and that we are merely pilgrims. Some days if feels as if it is such a long way home. Jim was such a wonderful person. He seemed to have it all, wonderful wife and daughters and grandchildren. He was a good Christian father, brother, husband and son. His demeanor and character was exemplary and it was a 
privilege to know him. He will be dearly missed and remembered.

You left us a month ago but it feels like yesterday. I wonder if this pain in my chest will ever subside. I miss you. It's surreal because you're gone, but you're everywhere. You're every garden I see. You're jalapeand cherry tomatoes. You're plums, pears, peaches and watermelon. Belgium waffles, homemade pies and banana pudding. You're Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and Oh happy day. You're running 'round and 'round in my head. You're the President of Mississippi, tall and Texas, and the Love of Louisiana. You're everyone?s favorite. You're a sunny day at the pool, tubing in the Hill Country and water volleyball. You?re a bicycle, running shoes and a fishing pole. You're a 65 mustang, a ragtop Camero, you are the colors orange and green. You're the wind through my hair and the sound of a blowing train. You're the only one that could have a flourishing garden in a bed of limestone and read five books at once. You're mountain laurels and blue bonnets. You're antique climbing roses, yellow lantana and the reason I know the names of most plants. You're fresh cut grass and that old tin gas can. You're every Spring and every Fall. A rake and leather gloves, you never tire. You're my constant. Black coffee and conversation. A walk. I can still see your mustache smile and hear the sound of your laugh. I see you every day in my brown eyed brown haired boy. Like you, his smile can light up a whole room. He looks just like you. You're "I reckon so" and "such as that". You're sitting with me here on the fence seeing every angle, laid back and level headed, enjoying the simple things, looking for the beautiful and best in everyone. Never a need to be political or boastful, only genuinely true. I have it all right here. You will forever live in my heart. I love you Daddy

I remember Jim just as he was at Alicia's wedding to our son Jeff. All smiles and pride in his beautiful daughter. He was gracious and kind each time we met. As a member of Canyon lake lodge I had the privilege to know and visit with Jim often. I was always awed by the genuine goodness he projected which coupled with his willingness to give of his time in support of our Masonic Order. Most notably, "even after he moved to the city" if you didn't know he moved; you would have thought he still lived in the Canyon lake area. He will surly be missed and society and our order have lost a major link in the chain of Good Men.

May God wrap his loving arms around you Tamara and comfort you and guide you. I know you and Jim's many family members and friends miss him dearly. Remember and hold on to the wonderful memories that you all have of Jim.

I will always remember Jim as a person who was always smiling. I never heard him utter an unkind word to or about anyone. He was true to his word and I would have trusted him with anything that I own. He was a valuable asset to our Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star chapter. His death is a tragic loss to many people.

dear tamara, i had the pleasure of working with jim for my whole railroad career. you were always happy when the crew-caller would tell you that you would be working with jim. Jim was truly a prince. it is without a doubt, he was one of the nicest men i have ever known. he will be missed

Talked to Jim the weekend before, he left this earth, we were at the honoring of the DDGM AND DGM at Harlandale. Jim was a sweetheart, you could talk to him about anything. He will be greatly missed in both Lodge and Eastern Star.

Jim was one of the Good Guys. I worked with him on the West Pool, San Antonio-Del Rio or Eagle Pass run with Southern Pacific Railroad for many years. A very good Engineer and just a nice guy. As I said "One of the Good Guys". We will all miss you.

it was a pleasure not only to work with jim but to be in masonry with him and to have some one you know for the ddgm of your district truly a pleasure, my dad who also worked with him has met him in heaven to congragulate jim on his masonic route to heaven.

You left us great memories Jim and for 
that we will forever be greatful.

I met Jim through OES. He was always there with a smile and a hug to make me feel welcome. This was especially important to me since I knew so few people in the lodge and, believe it or not, I really am sort of shy. Don't laugh, Tamara, I put on a good act! Jim gave me the confidence to be able to walk up to strangers and introduce myself and welcome them. Jim made everyone feel special with his kind and gentle ways. He will be greatly missed.

The kindest, most compassionate, and loving brother anyone could have. I have so many memories of you and they are all wonderful but one that I treasure is that you never ended a phone call or visit unless you said "I love you". I will miss you the rest of my life.

There is nothing I can say, that hasn't been said far more eloquently than I. I always admired you for raising Julie and Jennifer, as a single parent. When you and Tamara married, and Alicia became the third daughter to be raised, my admiration increased. I already miss our phone conversations.

Unfortunabely I never had the opportunity to know Jim persinally, but I definitely love his wife, Tamara. We worked together, and I miss her. My prayers and tears are with all the family, may God be the Great Comforter for you all!!

The photo was truly Jim. I can almost hear his chuckle and see the twinkle of his eyes. Feb. 22nd was the last time I heard his chuckle and I will cherish those moments as long as I live. I think of him as a content man. He seemed to be able to handle anything. We always admired his courage and strength. He enjoyed the simple things like gardening, yard work, bicycling,walks, ets. He seemed at peace with himself and the world. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband and father. I will not question for there are no answers. Lets just remember all the good times for there were many. We were indeed blessed to have him as part of our lives. We love you Tamara.

I am and will continue to be blessed every day for having Jim as my big brother. It is a shame everyone couldn't of had him in their lives. I never heard and unkind word from him, he was positive and uplifting, a joy to be around. He had so much love to give and showed that in so many ways. 
I miss him so much he was suppose to always be here. That is selfish words, I know he is safe and at rest, I love you Jim...

You are always on my mind and forever in my heart. I never felt a hurt like this. You were an amazing man and an amazing father. I didn?t always understand you but I always adored and loved you and I always will. There is so many things that I admired about you. You always had something good to say. You were such a positive person, looking for the good in everyone and everything. You loved to laugh and joke around, you were so much fun. I?ll never forget the time we were riding that 3 wheeler at Aunt Alice?s and we flipped the darn thing and I landed on top of you. Oh how we laughed! We had so many fun and crazy times together. You were so smart too and had so much drive, dedicated and loyal to your commitments. I was always so proud to call you daddy! I will always have that image of you last Christmas, clapping your hands so excited to get your Christmas present even though you had no idea what it was, it didn?t matter to you, you were just happy to be there with your family! I love you forever and always!!

We will miss you Jim. Your smile,your laugh and the kind, gentle soul that made you loved and respected by all. We will meet again in the kingdom of heaven.

Uncle Jim was one of the kindest people to ever have walked this earth. I was lucky and blessed to have called him family. He built a beautiful family, and loved them more than most people can understand. Not many people leave a legacy like he did. I love you and miss you, Uncle Jim.

Jimmy and i worked for many years with the railroad and he was a good employee, but more importantly a good friend. He will be missed by many of us, and we share your sorrow on this sad day.

I had the pleasure of knowing Jim for numerous years, and we worked with each other at the railroad. Jim was thought and respected highly by his co-workers, and that is one of the reasons why his loss is so sad. I want to give you my deepest sympathy at this time of loss and grief.
