

James "Jim" Wade Heflin, loving husband, Daddy, Poppa, brother and son, left us too soon at the age of 67. He passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born to James C. and Mildred "Tivola" Heflin in Tunica, MS, on November 22, 1943.
Jim proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.
Jim was a plural member of Canyon Lake Lodge #1425, the sitting Master of Harlandale Lodge #1213, and the District Deputy Grand Master of Masonic District #39C, of the Grand Lodge of Texas, Helotes York Rite #362, Scottish Rite, and Alzafar Temple.
For 41 years he was employed by Southern Pacific/Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member of Community Bible Church.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, James C. Heflin. Survivors include his wife, Tamara; his mother, Tivola Heflin of MS; daughters, Julie Rockie Wanek, Jennifer Gabe Richter, and Alicia Jeff Smith; grandchildren, Lindsie Fisher, MacCall Cowan, Grayson, Teagan, and Gavin Richter, Rocky and Devin Wanek; sisters, Alice Tommy Cottrell of MS, Nell Sharkey of LA, and Wanda Joe Brooks of NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to immediately prior to memorial service at 7:00 P.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
