James Miner Horton, age 88, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on November 3, 1932, in Wellington, Texas to parents, Bonnie Franklin and Sallie Horton. Mr. Horton spent 38 years teaching and coaching in Amarillo, Texas; Sitka, Alaska; Austin, Texas; Fort Wingate and Shiprock, New Mexico, retiring in 1995. He committed himself to the communities in which he lived and has made a lasting impact on generations of students, colleagues, and families.
He was preceded in death by his parents. James is survived by his wife of 66 years, Madge Horton; son, Brock Horton, and wife Luisa; grandchildren, Anabell Thomas and Wyatt Horton.
