James R. Jackson, age 82, of San Antonio, died on Monday, January 28, 2002. He was born on November 27, 1919 to Milton Branch and Laurie C. Jackson in Chicago, IL. Mr. Jackson moved to Edna TX, at age 2 until he moved to San Antonio and attended Phyllis Wheatley High School. He then entered the U.S. Army and was a veteran of WWII. After Honorable Discharge from the Army, he began working in Civil Service at Fort Sam Houston until retirement in 1976. He and his wife, Geraldine recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. His grandson, Devin James Jackson, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine L. Jackson of San Antonio; sons, Barclay G. Jackson and wife Sheila of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Gerald R. Jackson and wife Carrie, Gordon L. Jackson and wife Frances, and Gregory L. Jackson and wife Adriane; daughter, Jamette M. Davis and husband Odie, all of San Antonio; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
