Jim was born in Hope, Arkansas on June 18, 1925 to Lawrence & Mattie Lou Key. At 17, he joined the Navy, and as a Sea-bee, fought in the Pacific during WWII. Jim later served in the Army during the Korean War.
After his Military Service, he worked for the US Post Office for 27 years serving as President of Branch 421 of the NALC. Jim held an office in the National Association of Postal Supervisors and retired as Postmaster in Floresville, Texas receiving an award for 35 years of outstanding service to the US Government.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Roland and one sister, Florence.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Irene; daughter, Patricia Kelsey and husband, Roy; three sons, Jeffrey Key and wife, Renee; Carlton Key; Larry Key and wife, Tina; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; two brothers, Harold and Danny Key; two sisters, Christine Patton and Sarah Lupold.
As a devoted husband and father, he will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
