
Our Beloved James Wylie McCord, age 71, went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2002, in San Antonio after a courageous battle with cancer. Jim lived an honest life based on the values of education, hard work, putting family first and having respect for others. Born September 14, 1930 in Frederick, OK, he graduated from Louisana College in 1951 and received his Masters Degree from Tulane University. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as an Armed Forces Radio Announcer. He retired from Shell Oil Company after 35 years of dedicated service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mayme and Leonard McCord and brother, Jesse. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lorine; his children, Tim McCord and wife, Suzanne, Dr. Mike McCord, and wife, Laurie, Karen Floeck and husband, Steve, Cathy Frank and husband, Bryan, and Pat McCord; his grandchildren, Cameron and Keenan McCord, Becky and Sarah McCord, Brian and Kyle Floeck and Sammie Frank; his brothers, Dr. Lynn McCord and wife, Frances, Dr. Clarence McCord and wife, Jean, Dr. Joe McCord and wife, Myrtis; his brother-in-law, Eddie Busby and wife, Emily; and his many nieces and nephews.
