

James Valentino Miller passed away on September 21, 2021 at the age of 73. He was born in La Follette, TN on January 16, 1948, grew up in Mineral Wells, TX, and passed away in San Antonio, TX. Jim had a 23-year career with the Air Force, during which he lived across the US and Europe focused on integrating computer technology and training to modernize the Air Force’s operations. Following his retirement he became one of the top realtors in the San Antonio area. Jim had a strong love for travel and he and his wife, Kay, explored the world, from Bali to Tbilisi to San Miguel de Allende, where they spent significant time in the past few years. He also felt a strong connection to his Italian roots, demonstrated by his love of family, food, and wine. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Miller, and sister, Mary Miller. He is survived by his wife Kay Martinez, mother Ida Miller Bell, brother Jerry Miller, son James Miller Jr., daughter Sue Miller, and grandson James Miller III. He is also survived by step-children David, Elisabeth, and Carlos Martinez and grandchildren Cosmo, Paloma, and Nasrine Martinez-Glenn; Pia Cely-Martinez; and Jacob and Walker Meyer.
The family requests that instead of flowers, donations be made to one of the following charities: the Air Force Aid Society or the American Civil Liberties Union.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on October 16 at Sunset North Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas. Face masks would be appreciated for those who attend. The service will also be live-streamed on this page. Those wishing to share memories or thoughts may do so here.
