Mr. Minor was a wonderful man to me, I was truly sad to learn of his passing .  He was a great man that loved his family deeply.  My heart is broken for those that loved and knew him.

Thank you Sgt Minor...

You once took an arrogant, undisciplined, totally out of control young 18 year old (ME) and you mentored me, spoke to me, taught me and helped me to become a soldier and a young man.

 I can still hear your voice, your teachings and remember how you took care of the soldiers in our platoon. 

You never put up with any of our crap, but your discipline was always fair and to our benefit. I admit that at times I was a big headache for you but you treated me as a son and you were a father figure to me.

I would not be the man that I am today without your example, your influence, your leadership and your friendship.

It was trully an honor serving with you.

I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved family of SFC James E. Minor.  Many thanks for sharing this wonderful man with me. I met SFC James Minor in November 1983. I was a Private first class, HE my 1st Sgt in  B Co. 4th Med BN at  Fort Carson CO.  My very 1st duty station of my now 38 year military career.    I thank him for his patience,  guidance, unique leadership mostly his friendship.  His smile always contagious but step out of line and "those eyes" could burn a hole through you.  
       SFC Minor was my mentor (father figure) without his positive encouragement and support in my early years of enlistment I would not have lasted this long in the US ARMY.  Now I'm soon to be LTC(R) Agullana-ODay.  I know he would have been very proud of me. 
        He nicknamed me "Z" because  he said " your name starts with an 'A" and end with an 'a' so I'll call you 'Z'.."   I can't even remember him saying my last name... I want the Minor family to know that SFC Minor (TOP) will always have a special place in my heart.

Minor was a great Brother-In-love and will be missed by the Gore family….

I worked with Mr Minor when he was a campus director at a vocational school where I was an instructor. 
I enjoyed his humorous comments which would always crack everybody up, and his excitement talking about a movie he was planning on seeing that weekend.
He was a down-to-earth person whom I've thought about many times. He will surely be missed.

How much I have missed James' humor and his hilarious stories.  One of the best bosses I ever had, but an even better human being.  I am in the position I am in because of his encouragement and support.  Our love and prayers go out to the family.  

I remember how helpful James was to me when I was first diagnosed with diabetes.  He and Darlene came to my house to talk to me about the problems I should know about and to encourage me.  James was a very thoughtful person.



Minor our funny brother-in-law will be missed greatly.  We love you Darlene, Aisha, Jenny.  Our prayers are always with you.
