Even though my sister, Maureen and my brothers, Paddy and Johnny and myself were fortunate enough to attend the services for our dear Uncle Jimmy - we felt we needed to say how happy and proud he must be looking down on his wonderful wife and family who gave him a marvelous send off. God be with you all.

We would like to express our condolensces to the entire O'Rourke Family on the passing of Mr. O'Rourke. 
He will be remembered with great fondness and admiration.

Dear O'Rourke Family, 
Branden and I were saddened to read about Uncle James death. I know that Charlie loved and respected his uncle a great deal. You can't know how much we appreciated the O'Rourke's presence at Charlie's funeral. We always enjoyed visiting with the family on the rare occassions that came along. I know James will be missed by everyone. 
I want to apologize for not attending the funeral, because I truly wanted to be there, but Branden and I were held up by the icy weather. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. I like to think that Charlie, James and other O'Rourkes are having a great Irish reunion.

I was a little girl, maybe 9 or 10 years old when I met you and Mamo Josie. I just turned 38, so you've been a part of my life for nearly 30 years and from the moment we met, you always made me feel welcome and loved. You have ALWAYS been so good to me. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for that. I will miss you so much, especially your great sense of humor. You always made me laugh. You will live in my heart forever and I will think of you everytime I watch football.

Sadly we never did get to meet 'Uncle' Jim, but I am sure that he was a wonderful person, just like the rest of the O'Rourke 'primos' who we have had the pleasure of meeting. Iam Uncle Jimmy's brother Michael's son. The last time I saw Jimmy was in Brooklyn in 1948. I did speak to Josepine last Fall. He was the last of a large immigrant family who made a good life in the US.
