

A lifetime resident of San Antonio, he was involved in City League Softball, San Antonio Men's Senior Baseball League, and Senior Olympics. He was founder and director of the UTSA Certified Financial Planning Program, Past President of the Financial Planning Association, member of the Governor's Conference on Small Business, member of South San Antonio ISD Advisory Board, member of the Southside Chamber of Commerce, and San Antonio Commission on Literacy.
He was an honoree of the Mission City Business and Professional Women. He was honored by the Southside YMCA as a Volunteer of the Year. He was the Northeast ISD GED Scholarship Chairman. Mr. Parker was Santa Claus at the Transplants for Children Christmas parties and managed the Astros in the SAMSBL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Parker, Sr. and Elizabeth Bodine Parker.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Manette; brother, John H. Parker, Jr. and wife Audree and their children, Leslie Vandersyde of Forest Hill CA, Janelle Hawkes of Fonora, CA, Bradford Hawkes of El Granada, CA and Denice Sator of Denver, CO; brother, David Parker and wife Karen and their children, Clint Parker and wife Emily, and Katherine Parker; uncles, J.W. Parker and wife Mary Jo and Jack Parker, all of Yukon, OK; cousins, Wylie Jean Stanley of Chickasha, OK, Judy Stout of El Paso, TX, Julia Chenoweth of Orofino, ID, Jerry Parker and Ronnie Parker, both of Wichita Falls, TX, Delores Barta of Stephensville, MT, Jackie Parker of Oklahoma City, OK, Michael Parker of Mustang, OK, Marion Lee Parker of Yukon, OK, Brenda Roy and husband Rick of Marietta, GA, Wanda Duncan and husband Michael of Rome, GA, and Linda Simpson and husband Jack of Tallassee, AL .
Pallbearers will be Bill Howard, Albert Motz, Joel Morley, Bill Fulton, Wayne Smith, Bob Freeman, Ed Oswalt, Skip Bradley and Val Cass.
