

After a brief illness he went to be with the Good Lord on February 9th, 2010.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army and later enjoyed 34 years at CPS Energy from which he retired. Jim was an avid fisherman his entire life and some of his happiest times were spent in Rockport, Texas. After retirement, he also enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Sandbaggers group.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Peeler; his mother, Mildred; and brother, Robert Bobby.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Claudette Peeler; daughters, LaVon Atkinson and husband, Ronnie, and Shelley Peeler-Georges and husband, Tom; five grandchildren, Shana Ramirez and husband, Philip, Tiffany Shedrock, Lacey Shedrock, Connor Smith, Cody Smith; and one great-grandson, Kyson Shedrock.
He also leaves behind his beloved sister, Mary Lou Hausmann and husband, Lou; one brother, Craig Peeler; his stepmother, Inga Peeler Skeene; and numerous other family members. His life was greatly enriched by the closeness of many very "special" friends.
