Joyce - I was shocked and sad to hear of Jim's death. What a loss for all of us. I loved working with Jim at CHG and had the chance to go to Maguey with him as well as deep sea fish. He loved people and loved to have fun! I learned a lot from Jim about how to live life and treat people. He will be missed.

What a great guy - very well liked and trusted in the grain/milling industry. Great attitude - was always smiling. Never afraid to share his opinion. I have known Jim for his entire 36 years in the industry. The reason he left General Mills to move to Texas?: He didn't want to be known as the "World's Oldest Flour Buyer!" Dear Joyce and Sharp Family, Thanks to Rick Schwein I learned of Jim's passing. Obviously, I was shocked and saddened. I immediately said a short prayer for Jim and you all. But during this prayer, I started to remember Jim, his wonderful traits, his kind and professional way, his character, his patience, and his love of family and life. I realized he had lived the "good life" and I was happy for him. To be remembered this way is truly a blessing. Joyce, I know what it means to lose your loving spouse. Our condolences, sympathy and thoughts are with Joyce and the Sharp family in this sorrowful time. One of our nicest memories was witnessing the vows of Jim and Joyce at their wedding 35 years ago. Jim's Minnesota friends and colleagues are saddened and shocked with this unexpected loss. May the Peace and Presence of the Lord hold you in His arms and in His care.

Jim was my American Dad. He was wonderful and I'll always remember him. Joyce, Jim and Mike made my sister Nuria and I feel like family when we lived with them as exchange students. Our friendship only grew stronger with time. They came to my wedding in Spain and my husband Ben and I went to Mike and Linsy's. Mike came to France one summer with us, we had High Tea at the Savoy in London with Jim and Joyce, Jim came a couple of times to our home in England...so many beautiful memories of a wonderful person who is so missed by me, my sister and all our family who got to know Jim and loved him. 
I'll think of him specially when I watch My Fair Lady again...he used to always say he loved that film. 
Jim, we love you and miss you so much. 
You will always be in our thoughts.
