James Ryan Shipley was born on September 13th, 1985 in San Antonio, TX and was third of three children born to James and Robbi Shipley. Ryan grew up playing and loving sports. He played Little League for Northeast and the YMCA then went on to play baseball and football at MacArthur High School. He made it no secret that his favorite pro team was the Boston Red Sox. Beyond sports, Ryan enjoyed channeling his talent and charisma into acting and performed in a high school production of John Ritter’s 1992 comedy Noises Off. He also loved camping, the outdoors and took pride as a foodie willing to try just about any cuisine. Professionally, Ryan trained to become an expert biohazard cleaning specialist and spent several years helping hundreds of families start the recovery process in aftermath of tragedy. He also loved to spend time volunteering for the PTSD Foundation. Ryan’s greatest love, however, was his boys Tripp and Tanner, and his favorite pastime was being at the ballfield watching their games.
For most of his life Ryan battled with debilitating clinical depression and bi-polar disorder. On Sunday, March 20th, 2022 his pain ended and he went to be with our heavenly Father. Ryan Shipley was a loving father, the favorite uncle and deeply loved by his family and friends who almost universally remark on his intelligence, charm and infectious sense of humor. He is survived by his parents James and Robbi Shipley; his grandma Juanita Taylor, his siblings Kristy Haresh (husband Dave), Kelly Brown (husband Chris); children Jameson Tripp Shipley, Tanner Wayne Shipley, Kaia Reign Isaacks; nieces and nephews Lauren Giles (husband Anthony), Tyler Hayes (wife Rosie), Taylor Brown, Marshall Brown; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
