
James Horace Tamplin of Bulverde, TX, age 86 passed away Thursday, December 22, 2005. He was born March 30, 1919 in Marshall, TX. He was a charter member of both Bulverde Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Bulverde.
Mr. Tamplin was a Veteran of World War II having served in the US Army in the European Theater. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor under fire. He retired from the Southern Pacific Transport; he was a 50 year member of the Kerrville Masonic Lodge No 697 AF & AM, and also a member of the Bulverde Optimist Club.
He was a Docent for the Institute of Texan Cultures. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Beulah Tamplin, his sister, Billie Arhelger, brother, Charles Tamplin and granddaughter, Laurie Rohrbach.
Mr. Tamplin is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy; children, Nancy Chivers of Spring Branch, TX, Timothy Kollman and wife Susan of Bryan, TX and Gail Rohrbach and husband Richard of D'Hanis, TX; grandchildren, Kenneth Rohrbach, Kevin Rohrbach, Jeremy Kollman and wife Jolene and Crystal Bush and husband Chris; great grandchildren, Bailey, Amethyst, Grace and Julian; brother, Jack Tamplin and wife Gloria of Richardson, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.
