He was a member of the United States Marine Corps, a Vietnam Vet, life time member of the Disabled American Veterans Association and he was employed as a civil servant at Kelly Air Force Base for 34 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Arthur Troutz and Maria Gomez Troutz; and by brother, Manuel Arambula.
Survivors: wife, Gloria A. Troutz; sons, James A. Troutz, Jr., and wife Laura, and Jonathan Troutz, and wife Lola; daughters, Shirley and Ginger Troutz; brothers, Leo Arambula, Herb Troutz, and wife Barbara, and Henry Troutz, and wife Carrie; sisters, Margaret Montalvo and Josie Ramirez, and husband Felix; and six grandchildren.
Interment in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
