He was born October 14, 1921 in Texarkana, Texas, to the late Willie Lelon and Iva Irene Draper Warrington.
He proudly served with the US Army's 2nd Infantry, Indian Head Division at Omaha Beach in WWII.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Louise Kastler Warrington and son, Richard James Warrington.
James is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary Alan and Dorothy Helen Warrington; daughter, Barbara Louise Giles all of San Antonio; uncle, Kermit Warrington of Texarkana; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and two first cousins.
He retired from Kelly Air Force Base in 1974, and enjoyed his time hunting, fishing, and going to the mountains with friends and family.
