After his local education he studied music with voice as a major. Mr. Young received his B.M. from Roosevelt University in Chicago and his M.M. from the University of Houston. He was a teacher in Michigan for over 30 years.
His Texas heritage goes back 157 years when his Grandfather Simon Young came from County Tipperary, Ireland to Victoria, TX in 1857.
Mr. Young was a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. His other passion was travel.
His many trips include 2 journeys to Israel to study the Old and New Testament and several tours to Europe, Canada, and Mexico. His last trip was in 2004 when he made a rail tour across Canada.
He is survived by many cousins, especially Mrs. Delores Stancik of Vanderbilt, TX. His friends in San Antonio will miss his humor and wit.
He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church of San Antonio 510 Belknap where the 11:30 a.m. Holy Communion Service on April 15 will be dedicated to his memory.
