She was predeceased by her parents, George Wilson Phillips and Nancy May Swain Phillips, her husband, Colonel Roger Page, her son, Mark Phillips Page, as well as her brothers and sister, George Phillips, Bob Phillips, and Nancy Glenny.
Jane was one of four children, of whom, two brothers became pilots. She and her sister, Nancy, married pilots in the US Army Air Corps. These men were best friends and the families maintained close contact throughout and after wonderful careers in the US Air Force. She and Roger married in 1943, in Sacramento California, and had 62 years wonderful, adventurous years together.
Jane was born Jesse Aubyn Phillips, but being somewhat willful, when she reached legal age, she marched to the county courthouse and changed her name to Jane Aubyn Phillips. She attended high schools in Ft. Worth and El Paso, Texas. She also attended the University of Southern California. While attending USC, she and her sister, Nancy, were guests of honor at a ball thrown by their cousin, Tex Rankin, a well known stunt pilot and founder of Rankin Aviation. At USC, she studied art, a field in which she excelled throughout her life, gradually moving into oil painting. Mrs. Page created a variety of oils in every city and country where she and her husband were stationed. One of the legacies she left her defendants is a cornucopia of oil paintings, all beautifully done. Each of her children and grandchildren has her paintings that grace the wall of their homes.
While she humbly recounted how she lived her life through her husband, Mrs. Page was a leader in her own right, volunteering to work with the Red Cross and involving herself in the Officers Wives Club at all postings. When Roger served as Base Commander at Sembach Airbase, Germany, she was the president of the Offices Wives Club. She provided intimate details of her family line to her children, grandchildren and her nieces, who have been faithful visitors.
Survivors include her son, Roger W. Page, Jr., and wife, Janet; her grandchildren, Russell and his wife, Crystal, Ashley Morris and her husband, Johnathan, Christopher Canon and his wife, Michelle, as well as six great-grandchildren: Gideon, Micaiah, MaKenzie, Cade, Christian, and Chloe. Other Family member are her two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mildrend Clevenger and Margretta Hull of California, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family takes great comfort in knowing that she gave her heart to Jesus nearly four years ago. We can only imagine her sublime joy as the first person Jane saw after 14 years of blindness was her Savior and Lord, Jesus. Jane is also able to behold the faces of her six grandchildren at last. That is God's amazing grace!
The family would like to thank the staff of Parklane West for their tireless, loving, and attentive care and Odyssey Healthcare for their dedicated assistance. They were a true blessing in her life. After a family memorial, Mrs. Page will be interred at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with her husband.
