

Jane Milburn Reid, age 66, of San Antonio, Texas, died Sunday, March 2, 2008. She was born May 26, 1941 in the Panama Canal Zone, Panama. Jane is preceded in death by her husband Major General Spencer B. Reid, M.D.; father, Major General Conn L. Milburn, M.D.; brother, Conn Milburn; and sister, Marilyn Milburn. She is survived by her daughter Clarissa Reid Owen and husband Andrew R. Owen; grandchildren Andrew R. Owen, Jr. and Leelia S. Owen; mother, Hebe Reynolds Millburn; brother; Charles Milburn, many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as her honorary sisters Bonnie Ritter and Virginia Labrecque. Jane lived in numerous countries all over the world, including Panama, England and Germany as well as many cities throughout the United States in conjunction with the military careers of both her father and her husband. She spent her childhood summers at her family's summer home in Keene Valley, New York in the Adirondack Mountains. Jane was the Duchess of the Armed Forces in the Order of the Alamo's 1966 Court of Mysterious Worlds. She graduated from Stephen's College in Columbia, Missouri majoring in theater arts. She spent a summer in Lake Okoboji, Iowa acting in summer stock and attended Trinity University majoring in theater arts, then moved to the Dallas Theater Center where she acted in many productions directed by Paul Baker. She was with the Kim Dawson Agency in Dallas and acted in industrial films, commercials, a television series, and a feature film with Steve Martin, Debra Winger, and Liam Neeson. She was also an accomplished artist and teacher with an emphasis on Bauernmalerei. Above all, Jane viewed her greatest accomplishments as her family and dear friends. She will be remembered and missed as a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and loyal friend.
