

Janice was born to parents Earnest Davis & Reba Garner and raised by her stepfather, ID Garner and mother Reba Garner. She was born in Lufkin, Texas on May 7, 1957. The fine qualities which Janice embodied were genuine expressions of her dedication to serve her God, Jehovah, and her efforts to put on the new personality in imitation of his beloved son, Jesus Christ. Anyone who knew Janice knew she lived her Christianity to the full, putting her faith into practice each and every day. Volunteering to serve fulltime helping others to learn what the Bible teaches about God.
She loved baking and cooking for her family and friends and a good game of spades.
Janice will always be remembered as a supportive wife, loving mother, and her consistently grounded and approachable demeanor. She was attentive to others, readily offering thoughtful guidance and demonstrating genuine care and consideration for those around her. She was known for her compassion and resilience, which will be remembered.
She is preceded in death by parents, father Earnest Davis and mother Reba Garner, along with stepfather ID Garner.
She is survived by husband of 48 years, James A. Leonard; sons JaMon A. Leonard & Jarrod L. Leonard; brother Michael Garner (wife, Shelly; daughter, Jasmine), sister Faye Pikins (husband, Donald); aunt, Hattie Jackson Livingston; cousins Stevie Livingston (wife, Candy), Edwin Livingston (wife, Katja), Paul Jackson, Lois "Dolly" Walker, and Jerrie Stephens; along with a host of aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews, cousins, & other loved ones.
