

She was born August 1, 1949, in Columbia, Missouri to Gray and Eula Driskill. Janice received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education from the University of Missouri Columbia and a Master of Arts degree in English from the University of Southwest Louisiana.
She taught English at the secondary and college level and ESL at the primary level for 27 years. She was known to both students and fellow teachers as a caring and compassionate professional.
Janice was an outdoors person. Her first love had become tennis over the years, along with a lifelong passion for swimming and water activities. She also was willing to try almost anything, including skydiving, so long as it could be outdoors in the sunshine. Her mother and aunts had instilled a lifelong interest in gardening to feed her insatiable appetite for being outdoors.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Lowell K. Lischer; daughter, Jennifer Anne Lischer of New York City; brother, Phil Driskill of Columbia, MO; and numerous cousins.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Porter Loring Mortuary North. The service will be held Friday, November 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Woodland Baptist Church, 15315 Huebner Road, with Pastors Terry Jolley and Garrett Vickery officiating.
